What’s up my palindromic peoples? Uh 1-2, uh 1-2, yup it’s Deciembre already, and is a year still 12 months?? Becuz this one flew by! I need one of those 8 years old this is taking forever years again! Anyway, here’s to a fine rest of your 2021.
We hope you had yourselves a good time in the kitchen and in other rooms in your abode last week!
We want to thank those who were able to contribute to our farm fund, to give some relief to our farmers who were affected by the floods. We raised just under $1,000 which we’ll be distributing this week, so thanks!!
We’ve just released our holiday gift baskets for this year and they are really fantastic! You can have one of these lovingly curated gift baskets sent to a friend or a loved one, we have them available in Vegan or Gluten-free! We also have gift cards which make a great thoughtful holiday present!
Our menu for next week is a present in itself, we have a beautiful Pork Loin Roast from Olsen Farms, Organic creamy Mayo Coba Beans from Alvarez Organic Farms, a loaf of Sourdough Bread from Zylberschtein‘s Delicatessen, and Haxan’s Serrano Roasted Garlic Hot Sauce! Low and slow, that is the tempo! Of course, we have a ton of Organic produce to complement our Organic Staples Subscription, Radishes and Koji from Foothills Farms, Leeks and Cabbage from Windy Acre Farm, and Yellow and Sweet Potatoes from Hedlin and Lyall Farms!
The list literally goes on! Have a good week and take care of each other!!
Sugar Pie Pumpkin
WTF Was That?! Sugar Pie Pumpkins
Well, I’m grown all over the world but you only have to travel as far as Mt. Vernon to find my birthplace.  What am I??!  Well I’m smaller in shape than my gigantic cousins but I’m also sweeter with a less grainy texture. That makes me creamy when roasted, steamed, sautéed, or puréed.  And I get along with a range of ingredients my sweet side works well with honey, maple syrup, brown sugar, and molasses, and my Savory side jives with crushed red pepper, salty cheeses, and wild mushrooms! I’m also good for you I’m rich in vitamin A, I’m also a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin C, potassium, and fiber.  You’ve seen me in pies but don’t sleep on my possibilities in soups and stews!  What’s not to love?  Aren’t you happy you met me??
