What's Good weekly!! 3-31-22

And just like that, Spring is here!!! I don't know about you, but I am loving those early season bitters! Miners Lettuce, Chives, a crisp bite of a radish; You gotta love a stubborn little root that bites back! Then there is the new growth on old plants. Did you know all overwintered brassicas will shoot up in the spring and give us flowers and rapini? It's such a wonderful April/May treat while we eagerly watch the new seedlings in the fields grow anticipating those first June Harvests! For the new kids, boy oh boy will we see a lot of greens between now and those first strawberries, blueberries and apricots, so it's time to perfect those braising skills, and don't worry, we will be here along the way to spruce up that plate with local beasty flavors like Kari Kari and Naija Buka!
While we radio the boats and wait patiently for our annual Crab Feast to hit the shore, we've got a fun one for you this week with the Bagel and Cream Cheese of the Month from Zylberschtein's, Egg Bagels and Lemon Thyme Cream Cheese. It's their nod to an Avgolemeno Soup! We also have a rare find this early in the season for you, a Whole Chicken for roasting! So invite some friends, gather around some choice eats and don't forget to tag us on the socials, we love seeing what our community is up to and sharing with each other any way we can!
