Praline Dream

For this single origin release, we wanted to evoke feelings of familiarity and comfort with a cup that warms the soul. With notes of pecan and caramel anchoring its flavor, Praline Dream immediately recalls simpler times of finding sweet treats in grandma’s kitchen. And with just a touch of clementine noted, it delivers a recognizable warmth that manages to still feel new and exciting.

Praline Dream may be familiar in flavor, but it hails from the lush volcanic soils of the Turrialba region, tucked away in the mountains of Costa Rica. Grown on the Aquiares Estate helmed by Alfonso Robelo, this hybrid varietal is some of the first productive harvests to come out of nearly ten years of cultivation. When he moved to the area in the 1980’s, the estate was in near ruin. Today, Robelo and his son Diego have created a literal small town around the carbon-capturing acreage placing Aquiares at the forefront of Costa Rica’s sustainable agriculture.

The Robelo family raised not only varietals of coffee but an entire community and filled it with enough pride and joy that employees purchased their homes on the land! Praline Dream and its story will give you that feeling of a warm fuzzy hug at your grandparents’ kitchen table. Sweeten up your cup and taste this treat today!  

 


KEXP Blend

 The post-roast blend of farm-direct Guatemalan and Brazilian coffees was born of a collaboration between our Head Roaster, Wade McIntire, and US Barista Champion Sam Spillman. This coffee is fruity and full-bodied with flavors of black cherry, candied orange, and maple syrup. It’s roasted here in Seattle where the live music--and the coffee--matters.
