ZIVA Mediterranean Foods has a mission to provide high-quality, authentic, healthy Mediterranean foods using local ingredients (whenever possible) to be sold through retail venues and to wholesale customers.
ZIVA uses as many organic and Washington grown ingredients as possible while retaining quality, authenticity, flavor and a higher mid-level price point. ZIVA’s initial focus will be on one product: hummus, using sprouted garbanzo beans for their nutrient value and ease of digestion to differentiate the product from the many other brands in the marketplace today.
Tomer Shneor and Jody Haynes, a husband and wife team, launched the company in 2015. ZIVA is Tomer’s mother’s name, and is an inspiration for the company’s goal toward authentically Mediterranean, healthy, handmade food products.
Tomer, a trained chef born in Israel, refines recipes utilizing skills developed while cooking in prestigious and popular restaurants in New York City (Restaurant Daniel, db Bistro, Town, Felidia), Seattle (Earth and Ocean, Pair, Cantinetta), Israel and various parts of Europe.
